CFTR’s “Sunlight Project” to root out corruption

“Sunlight is the Best Disinfectant” for the Backroom Deals that
Favor Big Industries and Bilk the American People

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Citizens for the Republic (www.cftr.org)today announced the formation of the Sunlight Project, a bold new initiative to monitor and expose corruption and cronyism at the nexus of government and business.

“The Sunlight Project’s mission is to ferret out corruption that wastes taxpayer dollars and continually undermines the American people in favor of the powerful and profitable,” said Citizens for the Republic Executive Director Diana Banister.

Citizens for the Republic will monitor financial institutions, “green energy” companies, the student lending industry, and the accumulation of personal data and other favored industries.

“Each of these sectors has one thing in common: they all receive favorable treatment from the government thanks to political contributions, cronyism, and a revolving door of executives who become government officials. The American people demand accountability and fairness instead of having their tax dollars and their financial futures being sold in sweetheart deals that get little attention from the media.”

The Sunlight Project will be creating educational videos and exposes of these deals to call attention to a problem that affects every day Americans who feel shut out of the political process.

Citizens for the Republic, the PAC originally started by Ronald Reagan in 1977, recently announced nationally syndicated radio host Laura Ingraham as its National Chairman.
